SERVICES

The bad news is, we only have one luthier currently doing maintenance and repairs. The good news is, that luthier is proprietor David Colburn. This means that your instrument will benefit from his 50 years of knowledge and experience.

The shop is now open Saturdays from 10:00–2:00. David performs simple maintenance and repair of instruments on a first-come-first-served basis as time allows. We are currently not accepting drop-off maintenance and are not performing repairs as David is still catching up on the repair of instruments dropped off during the pandemic. (Storage and time have become an issue.)

We are also accepting appointments on Fridays at 10:00, 11:00 and 1:00 to perform tune-ups and set-ups while you wait. If you would like to make an appointment, please call (603) 968-3346 and we will contact you.

REGULAR MAINTENANCE CONSIDERATIONS

Individually or as part of an overall tune up:

  • Cleaning

  • Fingerboard conditioning

  • Restringing

  • Checking neck alignment/intonation

  • Adjusting the bridge

  • Adjusting the truss rod

David recommends tune-ups twice a year, at the start of winter and the beginning of summer, when the humidity levels change considerably.

MINOR REPAIRS

  • Loose bridge

  • Crackling input jack

  • Fret buzz
